The Rain – Again!

Last night about 10:30, it started to rain, not just the nice gentle rains of Spring, but a full on thunderstorm.  Lightening, thunder, sideways rain, the whole show.   It continued well into the morning, so I had a choice of either a) doing my ritual in a thunderstorm, b) doing the ritual in the hotel room or c) waiting a day.  I decided to wait a day, and do it here at home in the backyard.  So the whole getting a ‘Mini Altar” was really a waste of time & effort.  I brought it with, and I did use it to cleanse the room, but really it was a waste.  Maybe I will need it in the future?  Who knows? 

Soooooo, the Full Moon Rite is on for 4:00 am.  I went over it a few more times, and I really hope that it goes off well.  I learned a lot more since I wrote up my Beltane ritual, and have added a few things (like the Great Rite) and removed a few things. It really seems to flow well.  So I’ll just have to wait and see.

Getting Ready

Leaving for Two Rivers tomorrow morning at 5 am, needed to get ready today.  Had to make sure that the gift was wrapped, my dress was pressed, etc.  I consecrated the items in my mini altar, but had a few stummbles – not really sure what they meant??  First I was calling the quarters and knocked over the glass that contained the juice for communion.  Pommagrante juice all over the floor!!  Luckily I had papertowels near me, so I didn’t need to break the circle I was trying to raise.  Then I was in the middle of blessing the mini chalice, when I knocked over my BOS, which in turn knocked over the eastern quarter candle and it was too near the papertowels that I used to clean up the juice, so I had a “mini” fire!

In both cases the knocking over problem had to do with the quarters, maybe I am doing it wrong, maybe they do not want to be there?  I really need to read up  some more.  From what I had been reading, I need their powers this early in my journey, so I decided to use them in ALL my rituals, maybe they only want to be there for the important ones (like Sabets)? I am just not really sure.  Of course maybe it means that I need to make my circle bigger, maybe it just means I am using too small of a space?  When I was not doing quarter calls it seemed to be just fine, but now that I am calling them, maybe they need more space, not just me, but it’s them?  So more reading to do.  Not really sure if I will call the quarters on Saturday for the full moon.  I am leaning toward calling them, because it is the Full Moon – but maybe my space will be too limited.  I will try to do the ritual outside, but I have never been to this hotel, so I don’t really know if there will be a quiet spot to to it outside.  If I have to it will be in doors, and the space may be limited.  I will read some more about the quarters and see what looks best.
